What Water Baptism is not:
Water baptism is not a prerequisite for salvation nor is it an addition to salvation.
Christians should be baptised out of obedience to and love for our Lord Jesus.
What Water Baptism is:
Water baptism is being fully immersed into water. The biblical method of baptism is a symbolic representation of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
As new Christians we are completely immersed into the water. This symbolise our burial with our Lord; we are baptised into His death on the cross where we are no longer slaves to sin. When we are raised out of the water, we are symbolically resurrected, raised to new life in Jesus, to be with Him forever.
We have baptisms as often as we have new believers repenting and turning from sin and trusting in Jesus to forgive them.
